Heartwarming Reunion of Khalid-4
Wednesday, 17 December 2025
Yesterday evening (17 December 2025) marked a truly special gathering for the brothers of Khalid-4 from the 55th PMA Long Course. Our dear course-mate, Colonel Naveed Akbar, who is currently visiting Lahore from Canada to meet old colleagues and attend to some family matters, was the guest of honour. The K-4 lads based in Lahore came together to host a memorable dinner at DeSOM, showering him with the love, respect, and camaraderie that has bound us for nearly five decades.
Almost everyone from the platoon in Lahore turned up, with only two notable absences: Colonel Nauman, held back by pressing family commitments, and Colonel (Retd) AIG Abid Qadri, who is in Karachi overseeing the National Olympic Games in his capacity as head of the Pakistan Olympic Committee.
What followed was a beautiful evening steeped in warmth and joy. We reminisced about golden memories from our cadet days, paid heartfelt tributes to our 45 departed course-mates, and—as is our tradition — dived into lively discussions covering every conceivable topic, from national affairs to international events, relevant and irrelevant alike.
The conversation began over a delicious Chinese dinner at DeSOM, seamlessly moved to the cosy D Cup coffee shop, and finally spilled out onto the pavement near the main entrance, where we stood chatting for a good half hour, reluctant to let the night end.
These gatherings remind us how fortunate we are to share such an enduring bond. May Allah grant us all continued good health, happiness, prosperity, and peace of mind. In Sha Allah, Ameen.

I envy the great camaraderie of the Khalid-4 platoon warmly expressed through this get together and so eloquently told by my brother. May your love continue to grow exponentially.
