To Chah Bahar via Jiwani Gawadar

It addition to its geo strategic importance and vested interests like keeping Pakistan and Iran apart and bringing Pakistan and India closer or those known pressures not let it develop, Gawadar reminds me of two names. First is my friend Nadir Mir who is Geostrategic and is keenly interested in Gawadar. He is working promoting its importance at international chess board and second name is of Hussain Qazi who is currently working on a project in Gawarar – an important port and the second most planned city in Pakistan.

Every time Hussain visits Gawadar he narrates what is happening there and how. He has very incisive observations. Last time he visited the area was just before the rain and Akro dam was full of water.

Most of us wrongly think Pakistan ends at Karachi. Starts from Karachi towards Gawadar and Iran border and one discovers the wealth of the area – geopolitical, beautiful landscape, warm and friendly people, soft image of Navy and Army and signs of colonial heritage (Jiwani used to refueling station during British rule.

Notwithstanding the interests of big wigs (some external as well as internal interests are against the development), I wish we develop the port, area and let the riches flow into Pakistan. We need to benefit from Jiwani-Gawadar-Chah Bahar route to Iran. It is open but very much underutilized. Why are we shy to open to the world? I keep wondering.

Dear Shirazi,
The route Jiwani, Gwadar, Chah Bahar is the route for Pakistan's prosperity.
Firstly, Pakistan is a multi regional state. It is Balochistan and more so the Makran Coast, Pasni, Gwadar, Jiwani, Chah Bahar which makes Pakistan also a West Asian Nation.
Secondly, Pakistan needs to be linked to Gulf prosperity which includes both Iran and Gulf States, further more, this route through Iran links to Turkey which is Pakistan's brotherly ally and a rising economy.
India remains a threat to Pakistan till Kashmir returns to Pakistan. Pakistan needs a West Asian and Central Asian connections, linked to Arabian Sea.
This is at Pasni, Jiwani, Gwadar.
With best wishes and regards
Nadir Mir

Dear Asghar
AOA
An excellent post. I just wish we start to look inwards and do what is best for us as Nadir and others are suggesting. We have enough, it is a matter of harnessing resources.
Regards
nauman

Gawadar still needs lot of perseverence but the fruit shall be very sweet indeed. It is a pearl of Arabian Sea which will adorn the Global Village.

The progress of Gawadar starts when people come to Gawadar.
The progress of Gawadari's starts when they venture out of Gawadar.
