My blog Lahore School of Economics wins Pakistan Blog Award 2011 (grinning ear to ear). The Awards were announced during grand and colorful Gala Night held on December 23, 2011 in Karachi. Large number of geeks, bloggers, social media enthusiasts and politician who know the strength of social space (like Imran Khan) were there. Sadly, I only attended only online and was following the event via twitter. Thanks Zeshan Zaki and all those who kept me updated moment by moment. Wish I was there! Sitting tight, I stared sharing after my blog was announced as winner.

Blogging definitely seems to be the future in the local context. I started blogging back in 2002, when the word blog was not much known. Ever since I am using blogging as a platform to prune ideas, meet others and share thoughts. Internet is a lonely place without Blogging; a fine art, a science, also an economics. Blogs are different to different people. For me, blogs are resources for my writings. More often, I blog informally, sharing impressions, generating ideas and seeing how they invoke reactions, keeping track of others’ work in fields of my interest, or simply ranting or pointing out things that come to my attention.

I cannot say that I am surprised. It's only appropriate that Pakistan's distinguished institution and its preeminent blogger be recognized.

The university was smart to put you in charge of the site. Over the years, I have watched as the savvy blog raised awareness of the achievements of the school, students, and faculty. Your hard work and dedication have never wavered.
