Celebrating the 35 Years of Association

It was on April 17, 1975 when young boys who have been selected to join the Pakistan Military Academy came to Kakul (Abbotabad). Thirty five years is a long time and a lot has happened during these years; most of us have retired. Members of 55 PMA get together to celebrate the association and comradeship and to relive their memories whenever they can. Annual Get Together has become one of the best kept traditions.

Annual Get Together - 2010 was held on the bank of picturesque Rawal Lake Islamabad on the farther side of the Dam Spillway where serving and retired officers of 55 PMA Long Course (along with their families) got together and relived some of the joint past memories. Gathering was good including Tariq Khan from up north, Baqar Zaidi from Lahore, Abid and Aslam from Sothern Punjab. Like always, Jalall Hameed Bhatti has captured some of the moments with his camera (Bottom two images by Saeed Mirza). Here are a few of the images for those who were not there and for record sack.

For almost quarter of a century, since our passingout in april 77, many of us were not in intimate contact with each other due to obvious reasons. In the recent years, internet facility has provided us an opportunity to comminicate with each other more frequently and more instantly, or at least "just read" about each other even if not participate physically. This has further been "eased" through availability of this facility on cell phone. JHB and Shirazi have made an excellent use of it and hve tried to keep the PACHWENJITES informed about each other and about the course activities. I am sure, though not being from recent generation, others will follow the suite and try to acquint themselves with cyber space instead of relying on the offsprings to read and write emails. I am sure this will bring us further closer to each other and keep us informed. WELL DONE JHB and SHIRAZI, keep the good work going, my services are available whenever required.
Although attendence was thin this time but this reunion was unique in a way because Tariq Khan not only participated after many years of absence from the scene but also sponsored one of the reunion souvenirs (DAGGER) with a beautiful inscription "AND DEATH DO US PART".
Thanks all of those who made ir success including JHB and Shirazi.
