Light Within: Rawalpindi Carnage

In a highly tragic incident 36 innocent people including 17 children, 10 civilian, 9 Army personnel embraced shahadat when terrorists attacked a mosque in Parade Lane, Rawalpindi. Reportedly 4 terrorists approached a mosque inside officers residential colony in Parade Lane, Rawalpindi Saddar and hurled grenades on Namazies followed by indiscriminate firing. Meanwhile two suicide bombers entered the Mosque and blew themselves killing 35 Namazies who were offering Jumma prayers. Security forces personnel in the area responded immediately and 2 other terrorists were killed in exchange of fire.

Agha Farooq visited the place and families and learnt some great narrations of tragedies and triumphs... He shares one of them here:

The Indian sponsored Taliban terrorists attacked the Juma congregation by lobbing High Explosive grenades along with two suicide blasts while rushing out survivors and injured persons were gunned down through indiscriminate but aimed automatic fire specially focusing on children. Major General Bilal Umer pushed his two sons and few other children out of the window forcing them to run off and returns inspite that he could have easily escaped. Jumps at one of the assailant, grappled and threw him down snatching his gun however, the other assailant shot General Bilal at point blank range. Concurrently, another son of Pakistan, Hazima age 13/14 years kept helping younger children to climb the window and jump out. Ultimately all assailants were killed.

Our enemies have always under estimated this nation's resilience, determination, courage and patriotism.
